Aviation Resource Management Apprentice

In the flying squadrons, you will perform procedures to sign in and sign out aircrew members for each day's flights. Each day you will coordinate with aircraft maintenance for the tail number assigned to each flight, with base operations for the status of the airfield and with weather for current weather information. You will validate that aircrew members have met daily aircraft safety and physical requirements before authorizing them to proceed to their assigned aircraft. You will maintain daily flight mission data to indicate the takeoff, in-flight and landing status of each flight. You may use ground-to-ground radio equipment to coordinate information with other base agencies and ground-to-air radio equipment to obtain flight information from aircrews in flight. After each flight, you will obtain from the crew members source documents indicating flight mission data and aircrew training accomplishments. You will input this information into a computer database. You may also be responsible for access to and destruction of classified materials. You may assist in establishing schedules for aircrew training and flying schedules by coordinating with units such as aircraft maintenance, weapons and intel and as necessary with other Air Force commands, other U.S. military services and foreign governments. In the aviation resource management section, you will maintain flight records, including aviation service data, qualifications to perform flying duties, aeronautical orders, medical recommendations for flying duties and history of aircrew members' flights. You will monitor flying hours of aircrew and aircraft and determine whether flight pay requirements are met. You will audit source documents for accuracy and use computer terminals to input flight management data into a computer database. You will also review computer products for management actions and compile data for reports. You may operate fax machines and high-speed computer printers and use commercially available computer programs such as spreadsheets and word processing. PAY CHART
