The government ships millions of packages each day, and making sure those packages get from point A to point B is vital to its success. As a traffic management apprentice, you will receive extensive training in ensuring that shipments are ready for transport; inspecting freight for damage; keeping accurate records; and operating forklifts, pallet trucks and hand trucks. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing transportation requests and authorizations and loading and unloading shipments. You will also be involved in quality-control visits to personal property pickup sites as well as quality checks of airline routings and fare computations. PAY CHART
