Pharmacy Apprentice
As a pharmacy apprentice, you will interpret, fill and dispense prescriptions to patients. You will also interpret drug orders for hospitalized patients and prepare doses to be given within the hospital. Pharmacy apprentices are required to perform mathematical calculations to determine the amount of ingredients needed to compound drugs in forms not available from manufacturers. This compounding includes the preparation of sterile, bacteria-free products that will be injected into the veins of patients. Another important part of a pharmacy apprentice's job is safeguarding chemicals, drugs and mild narcotics. Persons considering this career field should possess the highest attributes of personal integrity and enjoy dealing with people on a daily basis. Individuals selected for this career field must have a sound background in math. PAY CHART
