Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits
Kentucky Air National Guard offers up to 100% tuition assistance to a Kentucky state supported college, university, or vocational school. For dependents, the state offers a tuition waiver to the Spouse and Children of certain Veterans. Students can receive a waiver of tuition at any two-year, four-year or vocational technical school that are operated and funded by the Kentucky Department of Education. For a Veteran’s dependent to be eligible the Veteran must be a current Kentucky resident.

02 COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION
Kentucky Air National Guard members get a comprehensive workers’ comp plan, and the dependents of Air National Guard members killed during state-summoned active duty receive free college education as well as $25,000 to the beneficiary of your choice.

03 STATE TAX ADVANTAGE
Kentucky Air National Guard members, veterans and retirees pay absolutely no state income taxes on their military pay. Kentucky homeowners who are at least 65 years of age or who are totally disabled are eligible to receive a homestead exemption.

04 MISCELLANEOUS
Kentucky state employees get 15 days of paid leave, and Guard service counts as one additional dependent on state taxes.
