The Air Force Reserve offers many benefits similar to those of Active Duty but with the added opportunity to serve part time, meaning more time to pursue your civilian career, an education and other interests while you serve.

  1. 01 Flexibiliity

    • Part-time service options that allow you to work full time in a civilian career or pursue an education

    • If you’re Active Duty, you can transfer directly to the Air Force Reserve and accrue years toward your retirement

    • Tuition assistance for up to 100 percent of costs for two- or four-year programs through the Air Force Tuition Assistance Program, post 9/11 GI Bill or the Montgomery GI Bill

    • Available student loan repayment in selected fields

  5. 05 Recreation

    • On-base facilities for various sports, arts and crafts, and equipment rentals, which are available for free or at lower rates than similar off-base options
    • Family-friendly social activities and recreational programs
Base Salary Plus

Pay Table

Reservists are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed. Refer to the table for salary estimates for each rank within the Air Force Reserve.
