Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits
Kansas Air National Guard members receive up to 100 percent tuition assistance to state colleges and universities.

02 Medical Benefits
Kansas Air National Guard members on state-summoned active duty for 30 days or more may be reimbursed for health insurance premiums.

03 COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION
Kansas Air National Guard members who are permanently disabled while on state-summoned duty will receive $120 per month in addition to 12.5 percent of their base pay. Should a Kansas Air National Guard member be killed in action on state-summoned duty, the surviving spouse will receive an equal amount, as well as an additional $47–$77 per child per month and up to $500 for funeral expenses. Children will also receive free tuition at any Kansas state college.

04 STATE TAX ADVANTAGE
Military retired pay that is included in federal adjusted gross income is not taxed in Kansas. Qualifying veterans can also get tax exemption for up to 2 privately owned vehicles.

Kansas state employees get 12 days of military leave per year and legal defense for line of duty. Kansas Air National Guard members also get exclusive access to distinctive auto plates.
