Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits

Members of the New Hampshire National Guard may take courses tuition-free on a space available basis in state-supported postsecondary institutions. This benefit can even be transferred to your spouse.

02 MEDICAL BENEFITS

All New Hampshire National Guard Service members are covered with $1,000 State Sponsored Life Insurance (SSLI) at no cost. Over $1,000,000 in coverage is available through a combination of the SSLI plan. Coverage is available for spouses and children. Service members can also keep the coverage when they separate, and rates will not go up.

03 Reimbursement

New Hampshire reimburses Air National Guard members for expenses, like mileage, that are incurred while drilling or during annual field training.

04 STATE TAX ADVANTAGE

There are no individual income taxes in New Hampshire. Distributions received from the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) are also not taxed.

05 MISCELLANEOUS

New Hampshire state employees who serve in the Air National Guard get 15 days of paid military leave per year. New Hampshire Air National Guard members also have exclusive access to distinctive auto plates.
