Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits
New York offers its Air National Guard members up to 100 percent tuition assistance at any state college or university.

02 STATE TAX ADVANTAGE
New York Air National Guard retirees pay no state income tax on their military retirement pay.

03 COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION
New York Air National Guard members are eligible for pension benefits and survivor benefits are available depending upon the nature and extent of disability incurred while on state-summoned active duty.

04 REIMBURSEMENT
New York will reimburse Air National Guard members for expenses incurred on state-summoned active duty for up to 180 days.

05 MISCELLANEOUS
New York public employees who serve in the Air National Guard are authorized 22 days of paid military leave per year. New York Air National Guard members also have exclusive access to distinctive auto plates.
