Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits
All members of the North Carolina Air National Guard are eligible for tuition assistance up to 100% for degree programs through Doctorate, as well as a certification program or even a private pilot's license. Tuition assistance can be used in conjunction with G.I. Bill.

02 MEDICAL BENEFITS
As a member of the North Carolina Air National Guard, members are eligible for enrollment in Tricare Reserve Select which is an extremely low cost health, dental and vision insurance.

03 COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION
North Carolina Air National Guard members can get low-cost life insurance up to $50,000 for unit members, $25,000 for spouses, and $10,000 for each child through the North Carolina National Guard Association.

04 STATE TAX ADVANTAGE
North Carolina Air National Guard retirees pay no state income taxes on their military retirement pay.

05 MISCELLANEOUS
North Carolina Air Guard members that serve 15 years out of their 20 year military retirement in the NCANG are eligible to receive a state retirement pension. They are also entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month while on active duty orders for more than 30 days.
