Air National Guard members are paid equally based on their rank and years of service. You’re also eligible for additional compensation based on your position and where you’re stationed.

01 Education Benefits
The Texas Tuition Assistance Program is an education benefit that provides money for college to eligible members of the Texas Military Department pursuing their educational and career goals. Awards at a public college can be a maximum amount equivalent to 12 credit hours worth of tuition and mandatory fees, not to exceed $4,500 per semester.

02 MEDICAL BENEFITS
Texas Air National Guard members enjoy excellent medical care while on active duty and are provided with disability, survivor benefits, low-cost health and life insurance, and funeral expenses.

03 STATE TAX Benefits
Texas Air National Guard members pay absolutely no state income tax on their military pay.

04 Leave Benefits
Texas state, county, municipality or political subdivision employees who are members of a reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for paid leave to attend authorized training or duty for 15 workdays in a fiscal year. The employee may not lose time, efficiency rating, personal time, sick leave, or vacation time during military leave.

05 MISCELLANEOUS
The Texas Veterans Land Bond Program provides low interest loans to Air Guard members looking to buy land or a house, or to fund home improvements. Air Guard members also have exclusive access to distinctive auto plates.
